"The Past"

Isaiah 43:18 "Do not call to mind the former things, or ponder things of the past."

I read a quote today from a good friend that reminded me of this Biblical truth. We are not talking about fond memories here. This is not about joyfully reminiscing. This is about dwelling on past mistakes, hurts, and trouble. We are admonished in His Word several times to put the past behind us,  where it belongs. So here is the quote, which speaks on more than one level. 

"Don't stumble over something behind you."

That is so convicting. My first reaction to it was to think... "When l do l am usually going backward."
