"Self Talk"

Psalm 43:5 "Why are you in despair, O my soul? And why are you disturbed within me?  Hope in God, for I shall again praise Him, the help of my countenance and my God."

When our "self talk" is wise, we should listen. I entertain a number of bad ideas that blow through my head, so when I question myself wisely, I should answer. I know I should not despair. I know I am unnecessarily disturbed at times. I should put my hope in God. Just like the Psalmist recommends to himself. If my own stinkin thinkin can bring me down, then my own wise understanding from God can lead me out of despair and disturbances and depression and the doldrums too.

He can turn my attitude around in a thought or a heartbeat. All I must do is listen to the truth in me. He will even change my countenance. This too not only shall pass, it has passed. I do not miss it. Bye bye despair. So long disturbances. Hello, hope. Hello, my God. Thank you for prompting me to question myself and to hear your answers in me. Let's keep listening when our "self talk" is from Him.

Can you hear Him now?
Pastor Fred
