 "A Place for the Lord"
Psalm 132:4-5 "I will not enter my house or go to my bed-- I will allow no sleep to my eyelids, till I find a place for the Lord, a dwelling for the Mighty One of Jacob."
Oh how I have prayed that the Lord would go home with me each day and lead me through my front door. I am in and out of our house a number of times each day and I almost always speak to God and try to hear Him before I step on that threshold. Also, as I lay my head down at night I definitely ask God to get between my ears and sort me out. I have almost always fallen asleep quickly. For this I am so grateful.
So for me it is as important to find that place with the Lord at night as it is in the morning. Last night my favorite basketball team lost a tough game in the final minute of play. I remember as I quickly grieved that loss, that it was just a basketball game and that there were so many far more important things to be concerned about. As I got into bed, I laid those truly important things before the Lord, letting go of them and then just resting in the assurance of His grace, I closed my eyes and imagined several pleasant thoughts and a few memories, and then woke up this morning.
He puts me to sleep and gets me up each day. He walks with me as often as I remember and acknowledge He is with me. For this I am daily and eternally grateful.

In Him,

Pastor Fred
