Cling to HOPE and His Rays of Light

As I write the devotional this week, I am mindful of so many people who I know and love that are going through very troubling and difficult times in their lives, robbing them of the JOY that God promises for all who believe in Him. I so enjoyed my trip back East this year (as I always do) because I took the time to do quite a bit of reading.

So, what I'd like to do today is share something I read by one of my favorite authors, along with a picture I took from the back porch of my friend, Pauline's home, where we are blessed to stay every year.  Both of these two things say it much better than I could with my words, and I pray that if you are struggling right now (physically, emotionally, spiritually), that you will hear and see God at work as well.

From Jesus Calling, 56 Devotions for Comfort by Sarah Young (Page 34):
SOFTLY, I ANNOUNCE MY PRESENCE.  Shimmering hues of radiance tap gently at your consciousness, seeking entrance.  Though I have all Power in Heaven and on earth, I am infinitely tender with you.  The weaker you are, the more gently I approach you.  Let your weakness be a door to My Presence.  Whenever you feel inadequate, remember that I am your ever-present help.

Hope in Me and you will be protected from depression and self-pity.  Hope is like a golden cord connecting you to Heaven.  The more you cling to this cord, the more I bear the weight of your burdens; thus, you are lightened.  Heaviness is not of My kingdom.  Cling to Hope and My rays of Light will reach you through the darkness. (Psalm 46:1; Romans 12:12; Romans 15:13).
"Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer".  Romans 12:12

Have a blessings-filled weekend and week to follow.  We invite and welcome you to join us Sundays at Grace Harbor for Adult Bible Study at 9:00 a.m. as they begin the study of the Book of James, Worship Service, and Children's Sunday School at 10:00 a.m.

Love In Him, Charlotte Adams
